01 - The early days

A Master Carpenter's Craft

Having achieved a City and Guilds standard in Carpentry and Joinery, Jarrod went on to become one of the very few people to earn the title of Master Carpenter. It's a distinction that reflects years of dedication to the craft, and one that continues to shape everything the company produces today, including our classic wooden staircases.

Each year, the Institute of Carpenters recognises a single individual who demonstrates a natural flair and an exceptional eye for detail. Earning that recognition placed Jarrod among an elite group of craftspeople, and it's a standard that runs through every staircase we design and build. From the first measurement to the final finish, that same commitment to precision and quality is present in all of our work.

GET IN TOUCH

Staircase renovated by Jarrods. Service start to finish was exceptional. We went from a dark wood staircase to a contemporary oak with powder coated black spindles, what a wonderful difference! The quality of the finish is outstanding. Special mention to all the contacts Peter, Jarrod, Claire and the fitter Jason (he did a fabulous job). So pleased with it and now just waiting for the new carpet.

From Craftsman to Company

After site managing national hotel projects across the UK and completing four self-builds, Jarrod moved into the bespoke staircase and custom-made furniture industry, working alongside leading manufacturers and training their fitting and installation teams. But he grew frustrated with the industry's increasingly modular approach, and together with his wife Sherelle, set out to create something different: a truly bespoke business.

That business became Jarrods. Specialising in the creation of bespoke staircases, the company was built around a highly professional yet uniquely personal service. With a craftsman's eye, Jarrod's approach harkens back to the skills, abilities and standard of customer service more often associated with days gone by, where every piece, from classic metal staircases to bespoke timber designs, is made to order and made to last.

Today, Jarrods is a family-run business operating right across the country. Our staff are both qualified and experienced, and Jarrod and Sherelle remain very much hands-on within the company. The teams know each other well and rely on one another's expertise to bring out the very best in the work. And while there are several offices dotted around the UK, team meetings are still just as likely to be held around Jarrod and Sherelle's own kitchen table.

An excellent service from start to finish, two full days work saw the removal of the old staircase and installation of the new stainless steel, glass and oak staircase that has transformed the look of our hall and stairs. Very tidy and considerate fitters made it a pleasure to deal with Jarrods who went the extra mile to provide and manage a great product installation.

Pushing the Craft Forward

Jarrod and Sherelle each take an active role in the sale, design, creation or installation of every project that comes through the door. No two staircases are ever the same, and that hands-on involvement is how they make sure each one meets the standard the company was built on.

Beyond the day-to-day, they also dedicate time to research and development, exploring new and creative solutions for contemporary glass staircases and modern wooden staircases that push the boundaries of what's possible in carpentry and design. It's this constant drive to improve and innovate that keeps Jarrods at the forefront of the bespoke staircase industry. We are all extremely proud to be part of the Jarrods team, and we hope that our knowledge, craftsmanship and personal touch instils trust and confidence in every customer we work with.

Crafted Beyond The Staircase

Every staircase we create is completely bespoke, designed from scratch around your home, your style and the way you live. There are no set templates and no off-the-shelf options, just the staircase you've always imagined, brought to life exactly as you pictured it.

From sweeping curves to clean contemporary lines, our designs combine timber and glass with the crisp detailing of contemporary metal staircases. Whatever the space and whatever the vision, we'll work with you to shape something that fits your home perfectly and stands as a genuine feature for years to come.
