Open Views, Distinctive Details

Clamped panels keep views through the balustrade open. The visible fixings become part of the design, with their finish considered alongside the handrail and surrounding fittings. For another modern option, explore our contemporary glass staircases.

Jarrods renovated our staircase back in 2015, giving us a classic oak and glass staircase which still looks as good as when they first fitted it. For various reasons we needed to fit another bannister on the wall side. We wanted Jarrods to do the work, especially after seeing the work of a local fitter. Chris and Rio did an excellent job as you can see from the pics. They also looked over the staircase, polishing and waxing where they thought it needed it. They worked hard and tidied up thoroughly – they were a credit to Jarrods! The bannister has future proofed our staircase in a lovely way.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about designing, manufacturing and installing a bespoke staircase.

What is a clamped glass staircase?

It’s a staircase where glass balustrade panels are secured with metal clamps rather than fixed into grooves. This creates a modern, open appearance while ensuring strong support.

Are clamped glass staircases safe?

Yes. We only use toughened safety glass, which is highly durable and designed to break safely in the event of damage. The clamps themselves are engineered for strength and longevity.

Can I customise the design?

Absolutely. You can choose the type of timber, clamp finish, handrail style, and overall layout. Every staircase is made to measure, ensuring a unique result tailored to your home.

Do you only build new staircases?

No. We specialise in both new installations and renovations of existing staircases. If you’d like to update your current staircase with clamped glass, we can design a solution that works with your structure.

How long will the installation take?

Most fittings are completed in just two days. Our team works efficiently and tidily, ensuring minimal disruption to your household routine. The beauty of clamped glass is in its simplicity. Allowing natural light to flow freely makes hallways, landings, and open-plan spaces feel brighter and more spacious. The clamps themselves can be chosen in a variety of finishes, from brushed stainless steel for a subtle effect to polished chrome or brass for a bolder statement.
